Position:Valuation Manager – Complex Financial Instruments Company:Redwood Valuation, Inc. This role is ideal for candidates with6+ yearsof experience in business valuation and a demonstrated focus oncomplex financial instruments (“CFIs”)such as convertible notes, SAFEs, warrants, earnouts, and other derivatives.Key Responsibilities Lead preparation and review engagements involving CFIs (convertible notes, performance vesting equity grants, contingent considerations, exotic options, and other derivatives etc.) and other valuations. Build, review, and refine advanced financial models using option pricing theory, Monte Carlo simulation, binomial trees, PWERM, and other financial engineering techniques. Understanding of equity valuation methods such as the discounted cash flow method, guideline public company method, guideline transaction method, and the allocation methods among different equity classes Provide technical oversight and mentor junior team members on CFI modeling and valuation methodologies. Draft and review detailed, audit-defensible valuation reports tailored to each engagement. Engage directly with clients and auditors, clearly communicating valuation assumptions and methodologies. Monitor market trends and lead internal knowledge sharing related to CFIs and fair value standards.Qualifications 6+ years of relevant valuation experience, with at least 3+ years in CFIs and other in 409A, ASC820s, or other types of valuations. Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a quantitative field. Professional credentials (CFA, ASA, ABV, CVA) strongly preferred. Deep understanding of fair value guidance under GAAP (ASC 820, ASC 718, ASC 815, ASC 825, ASC 470-20, and ASC 405-50) and IRS regulations (409A). Excellent Excel modeling (also utilizing VBA, Crystal Ball / Risk, and Capital IQ) and report writing skills. Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
