Job Title:Senior QA Automation Engineer – API & Cypress Experience Level:Senior (5–10 years) Location:[Remote] Employment Type:Full-timeAbout the Role: We are looking for aSenior QA Automation Engineerwith strong hands-on experience inAPI and UI test automation using Cypress . In this role, you will lead test strategy, design robust automation frameworks, and ensure product quality across web and backend services. You’ll play a key part in driving QA best practices across the engineering team and mentoring junior QA engineers.Key Responsibilities: Design and developrobust test automation frameworksfor bothAPI and UIusingCypress (JavaScript/TypeScript) . Build and maintain scalable and maintainable automated test suites forRESTful APIs and frontend applications . Lead test planning, test strategy, and test case design for complex modules. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and driveshift-left testingpractices. Collaborate with developers, DevOps, product managers, and other QA engineers to ensure quality is embedded across the SDLC. Analyze automation results, perform root cause analysis, and provide clear defect reports. Continuously enhance test coverage, execution speed, and reporting. Mentor and guide junior automation engineers, conduct code reviews for test automation scripts. Promote and uphold QA best practices, including documentation, reusable components, and test data management.Required Skills and Qualifications: 5–10 years of overall experience inQA and test automation , with at least3+ years in Cypress . Strong command overJavaScript or TypeScriptfor automation scripting. Deep understanding ofRESTful API testing , tools likePostman , and validating JSON responses. Proficient in Cypress API testing (using cy.request(), intercepts, custom commands, etc.). Experience with test reporting tools (Allure, Mochawesome, etc.). Hands-on experience withCI/CD pipelines(Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions). Proficient with Git, JIRA, and test management tools like TestRail or Zephyr. Ability to define test strategy, drive automation standards, and maintain quality gates. Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication.
