Role SummaryThe Special Educator will assess, design, and implement individualized educational interventions for children with developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, or autism spectrum disorder. The role focuses on academic skill development, behavior modification, adaptive functioning, and school readiness. Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment & Planning Conduct educational assessments to identify the child’s strengths and areas of need. Prepare Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s goals. Develop intervention plans in collaboration with parents and multidisciplinary team members. Special Education Intervention Deliver structured teaching sessions to improve academic, cognitive, and adaptive skills. Modify curriculum and instructional materials to match the child’s learning level. Implement behavior management strategies to support positive learning environments. Prepare children for school readiness and inclusion in mainstream classrooms when appropriate. Progress Monitoring & Documentation Maintain accurate records of sessions and progress notes. Regularly review and update IEPs based on progress and re-assessment. Share updates and recommendations with families. Family Training & Support Train parents and caregivers to reinforce strategies at home. Guide families on supporting the child’s development in daily routines. Collaboration Work closely with therapists (speech, occupational, behavioral), psychologists, and other professionals. Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and workshops. Qualifications & SkillsEducation Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education (recognized by RCI). Valid RCI Registration Certificate (mandatory). Experience Minimum 1–3 years of experience working with children with special needs. Core Skills Proficiency in creating and implementing IEPs. Strong understanding of various disabilities and intervention strategies. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Patience, empathy, and a commitment to child-centered care.
