We are now hiring Academic Counsellors to focus on real-world academic planning and next-step implementation for students and parents.Role OverviewAs an Academic Counsellor, your primary role is to help students and parents take tangible, well-informed academic actions post their psychometric and career fitment sessions. You will guide them on which entrance exams to prepare for, which colleges to target, how to plan their timelines, and what steps to take next - based on their preferences, performance levels, constraints, and chosen career paths.You will also be expected to travel occasionally if any school requests in-person group counselling sessions or workshops.Key Responsibilities1. Academic Planning & Counselling (Non-Psychometric)Conduct 1-on-1 sessions with students and parents to create practical, goal-aligned academic roadmaps.Guide students on subject combinations, entrance exam timelines, application processes, and coaching options.Help families choose the right course and college combinations aligned with the student’s career pathSimplify complex academic pathways (e.g., Law via CLAT/AILET, Design via NID/NIFT, Hotel Management via NCHM JEE, etc.).2. Entrance Exam and Admission ExpertiseProvide up-to-date guidance on key entrance exams such as JEE, NEET, CLAT, CUET, IPMAT, BITSAT, NID DAT, NIFT, NCHM JEE, and more.Share exam eligibility, application windows, exam patterns, recommended preparation timelines, and coaching options.Recommend entrance exams based on career pathways, board type, academic level, and region.3. Course and College KnowledgeAdvise on major undergraduate courses in India (Engineering, Law, Design, Liberal Arts, Hospitality, Management, etc.).Maintain an informed view of top colleges and universities - admission cutoffs, entrance criteria, culture, city comfort, placements, fees, and ROI.Be able to recommend realistic options based on student merit levels and constraints (budget, location, board type, academic standing).4. Research and Industry ForecastingProactively research developments in entrance exams, college admissions, new programs, and application trends.Call and connect with institutions, alumni, coaching centres, and career experts to get verified, on-ground information.Study and summarise industry trends to assess the future viability of various careers and courses (e.g., future of AI in engineering, scope of design careers, changes in legal education, etc.).5. Collaboration & SupportCollaborate with psychologists and readiness teams to ensure continuity in the student journey from diagnosis to execution.Maintain notes and records of academic counselling sessions, timelines shared, and parent queries resolved.Support the development of internal resources - college databases, entrance exam guides, academic planning templates, etc.Qualifications & SkillsMust-HaveBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Career Counselling, Psychology, or related fields.Diploma in Guidance and counsellingAt least 3 years of experience in UG academic counselling or education advising in the Indian context.Strong knowledge of Indian UG education system: entrance exams, courses, colleges, admission cycles.Fluent in English and HindiExcellent communication and presentation skills for 1-on-1 sessions.Proactive researcher: able to call, cross-check, and gather reliable academic information independently.Good to HaveExperience with student counselling at coaching institutes, education platforms, or UG admission consultancies.Comfort using tech-enabled platforms and student management tools.Work Culture & ExpectationsThis is a non-sales role focused on student clarity, planning accuracy, and academic implementation support.Sessions may be conducted on weekends/evenings based on student availability.Empathy, research rigour, and reliability are more valued than volume of sessions.
