Job Title: SAP Inventory Management (IM) Consultant Experience Level: 5 Years Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SAP Inventory Management (IM) Consultant to join our Supply Chain IT team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of hands-on experience in implementing, configuring, and supporting the SAP IM module, with a strong emphasis on integration with other logistics and finance modules. This role is crucial for optimizing our inventory accuracy, streamlining goods movements, improving stock visibility, and supporting efficient supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities: Implementation & Configuration: Lead and participate in end-to-end implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects for the SAP Inventory Management module (both ECC and S/4HANA environments). Configure and customize SAP IM functionalities to meet business requirements, including but not limited to: Goods Receipts (GR) and Goods Issues (GI) processes. Stock Transfers (intra-company, inter-company). Reservations and Stock Determination. Physical Inventory, Cycle Counting, and Inventory Adjustments. Batch Management and Serial Number Management. Special Stocks (Consignment, Project Stock, Sales Order Stock, Returns). Valuation and Account Determination (integration with FI/CO). Movement Types configuration. Design and implement solutions for specific inventory scenarios, leveraging SAP best practices. Business Analysis & Solution Design: Collaborate extensively with business stakeholders (Warehouse Operations, Production, Procurement, Sales, Finance) to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements related to inventory processes. Translate business needs into robust, scalable, and efficient SAP IM functional designs and solutions. Create detailed functional specifications, blueprint documents, process flows, and solution designs. Integration & Support: Ensure seamless integration of SAP IM with other critical SAP modules, particularly MM (Procurement), PP (Production Planning), WM (Warehouse Management - if applicable), SD (Sales & Distribution), and FI/CO (Finance & Controlling). Provide expert-level post-go-live support, troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions for production incidents related to inventory. Work closely with technical teams (ABAP, Basis) for custom developments, interfaces, and performance tuning. Testing & Documentation: Develop comprehensive test plans and scripts, and execute thorough unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Prepare detailed documentation, including configuration guides, process documents, end-user manuals, and training materials. Training & Knowledge Transfer: Conduct effective training sessions for end-users and key business users to ensure proficient adoption and utilization of SAP IM functionalities. Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and knowledge transfer to junior consultants and internal team members. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest SAP IM functionalities, industry trends, and best practices in inventory management and supply chain logistics. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to drive inventory accuracy, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.1 Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Inventory Management (IM) module implementation and support. Strong expertise in SAP ECC 6.0 and practical experience with SAP S/4HANA Logistics/Supply Chain, particularly in the Inventory Management area. In-depth knowledge of various inventory processes, goods movements, and stock types. Solid understanding of IM master data (Material Master, Storage Locations, Batch Management). Proven experience with integration points between SAP IM and MM, PP, SD, and FI/CO. Experience in at least two full lifecycle SAP IM implementations. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic setting. Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications2 (Nice to Have): SAP certification in Procurement, Logistics, or S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement/Supply Chain. Experience with SAP Fiori apps for Inventory Management. Familiarity with Warehouse Management (WM) or Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) integration with IM. Basic understanding of ABAP debugging for troubleshooting. Experience in middle east public / government sector is preferred. Prior experience in a consulting firm is a plus.
