Our client is a globally leading supplier of electromechanical components, primarily complex high-voltage connector systems. As part of the expansion of the engineering team, we are recruiting an experienced Principal Project Engineer (m/f/d) on behalf of our client at their facility in Bengaluru, India. As a Principal Engineer (m/f/d) for high-voltage connectors, you will lead the development of new connector and contact products for the automotive industry. You will oversee all phases of the product development cycle and guide concepts through to series production. Additionally, you will support the further development and adaptation of existing products and contribute to research and development initiatives in the field of high-voltage applications in the automotive sector. Your Responsibilities Independently lead conceptual development of high-voltage connectors and contacts for the automotive sector with minimal guidance from the Engineering Manager Collaborate with design engineers to develop 3D models and technical drawings in accordance with company standards and GD&T methodology Plan and execute DFMEAs, FEAs, tolerance analyses, and other theoretical studies; develop action plans to mitigate risks Take responsibility for documenting project scope, requirements, feasibility assessments, and the technical project plan Select and justify materials, with a focus on plastics for injection molding and metals for stamped parts Develop test plans for high-voltage connectors (DVP&Rs) and analyze results using statistical methods; conduct root cause analyses using structured problem-solving methods Serve as a subject matter expert in high-voltage connector development for the automotive industry Represent the engineering perspective in cross-functional teams and in front of customers; ensure adherence to design objectives and identify and manage R&D opportunities in the area of high-voltage connectors Your Profile Completed degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field Proven experience in product development, with strong knowledge of materials, mechanics, manufacturing processes, and engineering tools/methods Documented experience in the development of high-voltage/high-current connectors for the automotive industry Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously What Else You Should Bring Experience with DFMEA, FEA, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and other theoretical development tools Proven ability to manage project scope, requirements, and technical work plans Several years of experience in material selection, especially plastics for injection molding and metals for stamped parts Experience in developing test plans (DVP&Rs) and performing statistical analysis of test results; skilled in problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5-Why, or fishbone diagrams Ability to identify and shape research topics in the field of high-voltage connectors Business fluent in English Visit us:
