This is a full-time, on-site role , ideal for candidates passionate about building scalable systems, mentoring developers, and delivering impactful technology solutions in a collaborative environment. The Tech Lead plays a pivotal role in driving the successful delivery of complex technology projects by providing technical direction, leadership, and mentorship to the development team, whilst ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions aligned with business goals and timelines. Making significant contributions to the mobile payments industry, bringing engineering excellence, innovating new features, and functions in customer centric applications, you’ll be responsible for analysing product requirements, design implementations, and participating in integration testing. You will be an integral part of an innovative, dedicated, and high-performance team and you’ll need to match their level of excellence, delivering world-class banking applications. Role specific responsibilities Key Responsibilities Lead technical design and architecture of fintech systems across mobile, web, and backend services. Remain hands-on with code , with the ability to conduct design reviews, code reviews, performance optimization, and POCs. Build scalable systems using Flutter (mobile) , Java (backend) , React/Next.js (frontend) , and Oracle DB . Collaborate closely with product owners and domain experts to ensure requirements align with technology and compliance needs. Enforce engineering best practices—secure coding, code quality, automation, CI/CD, logging, and monitoring. Ensure adherence to compliance standards such as PCI-DSS, KYC/AML, and integration with payments infrastructure. Drive performance tuning and optimization for mission-critical payment and banking systems. Collaborative effectively with cross-functional (technical and non-technical) teams Mentor a team of 5–10 engineers, providing technical direction, peer support, and career growth guidance. Participate in system integration decisions, third-party vendor selection, and long-term tech roadmap planning. Requirements Mandatory experience in fintech, digital banking, or payment systems . Deep expertise in Java (Spring Boot or similar), React/Next.js , and Oracle DB (PL/SQL, tuning) . Solid understanding of mobile development using Flutter or native technologies (Kotlin/Swift ). Use Postman to test , debug , and document RESTful APIs , ensuring reliable integration between frontend, backend, and third-party services and payment networks. Utilize Jira for project planning , task tracking , sprint management , and ensuring visibility and accountability across development teams. Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, Docker, version control (Git), automated testing practices and infrastructure-as-code tools . Demonstrated experience in mentoring teams , conducting code reviews , and setting coding standards . Excellent problem-solving , analytical , and decision-making abilities. Strong understanding of financial workflows: transactions, settlements, reconciliations, wallets, gateways . Comfortable in Agile/Scrum environments with JIRA, Confluence , and related tools Strong communication , and stakeholder management skills. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Passion for delivering high-quality digital experiences to our users Qualifications & experience: Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s / master’s degree in engineering (Computer Science or design discipline related). 8+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years as a technical team lead . Domain Knowledge: Compliance: Hands-on exposure to PCI-DSS, KYC/AML, and data protection best practices. Payments: Knowledge of card processing, instant transfers, UPI, ISO messaging, or payment switches is a plus.
