Job Description

We are looking for a Chemistry Research Intern who is eager to learn best laboratory practices, assist in ongoing research activities, and contribute to experimental workflows to drive innovation at altM. The candidate will get hands-on exposure to organic synthesis, characterization techniques, and cross-functional research environments, working closely with senior scientists and engineers. Responsibilities Support lab-scale synthesis and formulation activities. Assist in purification and characterization of compounds using instruments such as NMR, GC-MS, HPLC, and IR. Help prepare reagents, set up reactions, and monitor experimental progress. Maintain accurate lab records, inventory, and data logs. Stay curious and engaged — we’ll support you with literature review, method development, and data interpretation over time. Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in lab settings. Requirements Student or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Chemistry (preferably Organic or Applied Chemistry). Nice to have: Prior lab and project experience and internships. Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of organic chemistry principles and techniques. Proficiency in using lab equipment and analytical instruments. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team. Commitment to safety, compliance, and ethical conduct in scientific research. Able to work from our lab in Bangalore with a willingness to travel for fieldwork or partner projects.
