Through collaborative approaches and scientific insights, we work to transform lives and systems—especially in rural and underserved areas of India.We are currently seeking a Project Lead – Climate Smart Dairy to support and scale our multi-disciplinary work in the livestock and dairy sector, with a strong focus on climate-smart practices and partner engagement.Role OverviewThe Project Lead will be responsible for leading research-based implementation and stakeholder coordination efforts to drive sustainable transformation in the dairy value chain. This role requires strong technical expertise, field experience, and a commitment to systems-level thinking in agriculture, livestock, and environment.Key ResponsibilitiesCross-Functional CollaborationLead and support integrated projects focused on livestock and dairy improvement in India.Ensure alignment of scientific, technical, and operational goals across partners and stakeholders.Facilitate knowledge-sharing between Indian teams and international collaborators.Technical Capacity BuildingProvide technical guidance to partners and field teams on livestock, dairy nutrition, and climate-smart practices.Contribute to geographic assessments to identify key challenges and opportunities.Analyze data and provide inputs for decision-making across agriculture, water, and food systems.Partner EngagementDevelop and maintain strategic relationships with cooperatives, government agencies, research institutions, and other key players.Represent Samvedna at national meetings, events, and external forums.Support the development of long-term partnership strategies in agriculture and food security programming.Project Management & ReportingTrack progress, milestones, and deliverables.Prepare technical documentation, reports, and communication materials for stakeholders.Global CoordinationParticipate in international coordination efforts, including USA-aligned meeting times.Balance synchronous and asynchronous communication in a distributed team setup.Required Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry with minimum 7 years of relevant experienceORMaster’s degree in Animal Nutrition with at least 5 years of relevant experienceProven experience in the dairy sector, livestock systems, or agri-livelihoodsStrong interpersonal and analytical skills with the ability to work independentlyExperience working with NGOs, research bodies, or development organizations is preferredWhy Join UsThis is an opportunity to work at the intersection of science, sustainability, and social impact.
