Job Description

Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer (Contract) – FinTech Help build and scale backend infrastructure for a financial services platform in the Middle East. You’ll join a team working to strengthen AWS architecture, automate deployments, and raise the bar on platform reliability and security. This is hands-on work with real impact, the product is live, regulated, and handling real financial data. The Role: We’re supporting a client who are hiring a Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to take ownership of infrastructure automation and reliability. The current setup is partially built (some Lambda, minimal Terraform), and you’ll be expected to bring it up to speed. It’s a full-time contract (initially 3 months, but likely to extend/go perm for the right person) with the flexibility to work remotely, and a clear priority: reduce risk, speed up delivery, and help the team meet aggressive timelines. What You’ll Be Doing: Optimising and scaling AWS Lambda-based deployments. Building out Terraform infrastructure (IaC from the ground up). Improving CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions). Automating test and rollback processes to support rapid iteration. Implementing logging, monitoring, and audit trails suitable for a regulated product. Strengthening AWS IAM and security configurations. Supporting PostgreSQL performance and reliability. What’s In It For You: Clear priorities, autonomy, and no red tape. A chance to shape infrastructure for a live, regulated FinTech product. Work directly with leadership that understands the domain and values engineering input. Flexible remote setup (working GMT +3 hours). What You’ll Need to Succeed: 5+ years of DevOps or Platform Engineering in production environments. Hands-on AWS Lambda experience, you know the internals, not only theory. Proven track record building robust Terraform-based infrastructure. CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions (or similar). PostgreSQL experience (performance tuning, backups, etc.). Familiarity with TypeScript/Node.js for deployment support. Strong communication skills and ability to deliver independently. Nice to Have: Financial services experience, understanding of how transactions, audit, and regulatory expectations shape infra design. Experience with Cognito (authentication) and broader AWS stack. Familiarity with secure-by-default DevOps practices. Monitoring tools (CloudWatch, DataDog, etc.). Next Steps: If you’re a pragmatic DevOps engineer who can ship without supervision and understands the stakes of building infra for financial products, get in touch. They're moving fast and ready to hire the right person immediately.
