Position Title: Advanced Technical Project Specialist Job Description: Roles & responsibilities: A plan, estimates, staffs organizes and manages multiple IT projects. Creates and sustains links between business requirements and technology production. Articulates requirements and controls expectations of both business and technical clients. Holds regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors and clients. Identifies common IT risks and addresses them with contingency plans and back-out options. Organizes IT projects and ensures that they are executed successfully to plan. Explains the process for identifying risks and vulnerabilities and creating contingency plans. Identifies reporting and control requirements and reflects them in all project plans. Deals successfully with managerial, technical and business stakeholders in the project. Develops an ability to balance cost, time and functionality to meet a target. Controls multiple IT projects: monitoring progress, probing and repairing delays. Justifies varying and appropriate levels of scrutiny for differently experienced team members. Deals successfully with managerial, technical and business stakeholders in progress reporting. Consolidates the progress of many IT projects into a single progress report. Adopts the principles of Earned Value Analysis across multiple IT projects. Describes tools and techniques for monitoring progress and presenting reports to stakeholders. Documents associated phases, activities, deliverables and processes. Explains phase and task dependencies and considerations. Demonstrates knowledge of a specific development methodology and processes. Explains relevant documentation, standards, policies and practices. Works with development or delivery of an application. Describes major phases, activities, checkpoints and deliverables. Participates in development of applications using a life-cycle methodology. Employs tools and techniques for functional decomposition. Works with a specific structured methodology. Describes similarities and differences of life cycle for development vs. enhancement effort. Experience Required: Project Management Experience Experiencing working with technology leaders on business processes Ability to understand client expectations and recognize and escalate issues that may affect delivery. Good verbal and written skills. Customer service aptitude and ability to follow through to resolve customer issue Compassionate and kind, showing courtesy, dignity, and respect.
