We work with global enterprises to build and modernize scalable platforms. We are now seeking a skilled Azure to On-Prem Migration Specialist to assist in the planning and execution of cloud repatriation and hybrid infrastructure projects. Role SummaryWe are looking for a hands-on infrastructure engineer with deep knowledge of Azure, on-prem virtualization platforms (like Azure Stack HCI), and hybrid environments . The ideal candidate will be able to lead end-to-end migration projects, design rollback plans, collaborate cross-functionally, and document the process for internal enablement. Responsibilities1. Cloud & On-Prem Infrastructure Expertise Strong understanding of Azure VMs, Azure Stack HCI, Hyper-V, and VMware Experience with Azure Arc and hybrid VM lifecycle management Proficient with Windows Admin Center or similar for managing storage, networking, and compute Practical experience in VM import/export between Azure and on-prem systems 2. Migration Design & Execution Design and lead both POC and production-ready Azure → on-prem migrations Create clear visual representations (flowcharts, architecture diagrams) Develop rollback strategies , risk mitigation plans, and validation checklists 3. SQL Infrastructure Awareness Understand SQL Server configurations in both Azure and on-prem Handle SQL disk backups, restore operations, and data integrity validation Coordinate SQL migration with minimal downtime 4. Automation & Scripting Skilled in PowerShell , Azure CLI , and/or Bash Build scripts for inventory gathering, dependency mapping, disk exports, and provisioning Write clean, reusable scripts and share with internal teams 5. System Dependencies & Application Readiness Knowledge of AD, DNS, NSGs, firewall , domain trust, and SID resolution Handle hostname/IP change impacts and post-migration reconfiguration 6. Documentation & Team Enablement Create step-by-step documentation for: POC setup Full migration procedures Application validation and testing Conduct walkthroughs and knowledge transfer sessions 7. Collaboration & Professionalism Work collaboratively across DevOps, Infra, QA, and Product teams Use Jira, Confluence, Teams effectively Maintain high visibility during work hours (camera on during calls unless agreed) Communicate proactively, especially around risks/blockers ✅ Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)Familiarity with Azure Stack Hub or other hybrid solutions Experience with cost modeling (cloud vs. on-prem) Awareness of DevOps pipelines in hybrid infrastructure contexts
