Job Title: Senior Shopify & WordPress Developer Location: Remote Job Type: Full-Time | Contract | Remote Experience Level: Senior About the Role We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Shopify and WordPress Developer to join our remote team. This role is ideal for a developer who thrives in both e-commerce and content management environments, with a deep understanding of front-end and back-end development on both platforms. You’ll be responsible for building, customizing, and maintaining websites that are performant, secure, and aligned with modern UX/UI standards. This is a fully remote position, but you must be available to work primarily within Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.Key Responsibilities Shopify Development Design and develop custom Shopify themes from scratch or extend existing themes. Integrate third-party apps and APIs to enhance store functionality. Customize Shopify Plus features, scripts, and checkout flows. Troubleshoot and optimize site performance, speed, and usability. WordPress Development Build and maintain custom themes and plugins. Ensure high-performance and availability, managing all technical aspects of the CMS. Implement SEO best practices and optimize for Core Web Vitals. Migrate sites between hosts and environments with minimal downtime. General Collaborate with design, marketing, and content teams to translate concepts into fully functional digital experiences. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Stay current with industry trends and platform updates to recommend improvements. Debug and resolve technical issues across platforms. Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience with Shopify (including Shopify Plus) . 5+ years of professional experience with WordPress (including custom theme/plugin development). Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript . Deep understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility. Experience with performance optimization, caching, and CDN integration. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience with headless Shopify or WordPress implementations (e.g., using Gatsby, Next.js). Familiarity with Figma/Adobe XD to translate designs into code. Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and compliance. Work Hours & Availability Must be available to work during core EST hours (9 AM – 5 PM EST) . Flexibility around deadlines and critical project launches is expected.
