The Opportunity: Topology Optimization Researcher (Reinforced Concrete) As our Topology Optimization Researcher, you’ll spearhead the development of advanced computational frameworks to optimize modular RC components for scalable manufacturing, rapid assembly, and exceptional structural performance like high strength to weight ratio. Your expertise will be integral to our digital construction platform—transforming how we design, engineer, and deliver next-generation high-performance infrastructure. What You’ll Do Formulate and implement state-of-the-art topology optimization algorithms for reinforced concrete elements, leveraging finite element analysis and nonlinear material modeling. Integrate real-world constraints including code compliance (IS/ACI/Eurocode), constructability, reinforcement detailing, and lifecycle durability into optimization workflows. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team spanning structural engineering, computational design, and manufacturing systems to translate digital solutions into scalable, real-world products. Validate and refine optimization outcomes through high-fidelity simulation, physical prototyping, and field deployment. Disseminate research findings via documents and presentations. What We’re Looking For PhD (or near completion), MTech, or MS in Structural/Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline. Proven expertise in topology optimization, reinforced concrete design, and advanced numerical methods (nonlinear FEA). Proficiency in scientific programming and computational modeling (MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar). Strong foundation in first-principle engineering, with a proven ability to translate theoretical insights into practical, manufacturable solutions. Experience with modular construction, industrialized building systems is a plus.
