Summary Pinnacle is looking for an experienced and driven Senior Tax Analyst to join our growing Tax & Compliance team at Pinnacle. You’ll lead U.S. indirect tax compliance efforts (Sales & Use Tax and Canada GST) and support global tax operations across multiple jurisdictions. This is a high-impact role ideal for someone with strong U.S. tax technical knowledge, excellent data skills, and the ability to manage complex, cross-border compliance processes. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in managing US sales, income tax and related compliance as well as experience in navigating international entities tax and statutory audit compliance matters. The ideal candidate has experience in standardizing processes and practices as well as creating robust process controls in Tax & Compliance operations. The ideal candidate has experience of operating in a fast paced, high volume transaction environment and can provide effective leadership to deliver departmental objectives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, pro-active and decisive. Duties and Responsibilities: Tax Processes : Review monthly sales and use tax filing for multiple states in the U.S. and provinces in Canada including gross tax receipts. Coordinate with CPA firm for various outsourced US federal, state, and local income tax filings, extensions, and quarterly payments. Review output for reasonableness and coordination for signature based on company policy. Coordinate with CPA firms for international tax and statutory compliance requirements such as statutory audits. Review necessary inputs for accuracy and reasonableness as well as outputs for data accuracy and quality. Review tax analyst work output for quality, correctness and match with business objectives. Coordinate with the Finance, AP and Treasury teams to ensure booking and payments are made timely and accurately. Collaborate cross functionally for tax setup, process design and trouble-shooting tax mapping for day-to-day transactions. Ensure timely report out and review of monthly transactional data for correct tax mapping, set up and keeping up with corrections needed Support external audits from various jurisdictions as they occur in conjunction with Finance, Legal or outsourced providers. Stay current with changing regulations and compliance requirements and impacts to business, report to leadership and drive necessary changes. Periodically evaluate existing processes considering evolving tax and compliance requirements, make recommendations and push for change as needed. Individual Leadership: Ensure Compliance and timely delivery of all deliverables and achieve 100% on time compliance globally. Maintain internal process controls, tax calendars, and documentation to ensure accurate and timely filings. Ensure the Department’s SOP & checklist are created, maintain & adopted. Drive for continuous improvement, standardization of processes, automation to create a highly scaled and automated function. Maintain our service-focused team culture. Technology Footprint: Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/tax systems (e.g., Workday, Avalara etc). Develop working knowledge of functional and integration design & workflows. Review testing results for process enhancements and approve push to production recommendations for Tax modules. Support new client implementation for tax compliance requirements and ensure processes are operationalized including necessary setup in the systems Pinnacle uses Qualifications Master’s degree in taxation, Accounting or Finance or Economics Chartered Accountant or CPA, active status and in good standing Minimum 7 years of relevant tax experience, including U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance with MNC in-house tax operation (or) Big 4 firm preferred.
