Position Overview:We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Subject Matter Expert ( SME ) to develop high-quality instructional content for anIntuit Personal Finance certification course . The SME will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to create engaging, accurate, and standards-aligned learning materials.This role will involve crafting clear, standards-aligned assessment materials that help students master key personal finance concepts and succeed on the certification exam.An ideal candidate should possess expertise in the following areas: Gross vs. Net Incomes, Taxes and Voluntary Withholdings on a Pay Stub, Filing Taxes: Status and Deadlines, Deductions, Tax Credits, and Tax Brackets, SSN vs. ITIN, Tax Forms, Earning Income: Methods of Payment, Earned vs. Unearned Income, Employment Opportunities, Cost of Living Index, Spending Influences: Marketing Tactics and Social Pressure, Immediate vs. Delayed Purchase Decisions, Supply and Demand, Inflation, Budgeting Methods, Discretionary and Non-Discretionary Purchases, Fixed and Variable Expenses, Short-term and Long-term Financial Goals, Banks and Credit Unions, Debit and Credit Cards, Insured vs. Uninsured Deposits, Account Types: Savings, Checking, CDs, Retirement, Types of Investing, Managing Credit and Debt, Types of Lending, Types of Insurance, Fraud and Consumer ProtectionKey Responsibilities:Subject Matter Expertise: Write clear, accurate, and engaging lesson content aligned to industry standards and learning objectives. Ensure technical accuracy and up-to-date practices in solar energy and workplace safety. Instructional Design and Development: Write and design engaging course materials that translate technical concepts into accessible language for learners. Incorporate examples, activities, and checks for understanding. Develop lessons in the client’s learning management platform. Collaboration and Feedback: Collaborate with other instructional designers, the client’s educators, and stakeholders to ensure the course is relevant and impactful. Revise content based on feedback from the team. Work as a productive team member of a part of the global, cross-functional team.Qualifications:Required: Familiarity with financial literacy standards and the Intuit Personal Finance Certification framework. Experience in technical writing or curriculum development. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely for educational purposes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g. Finance, Economics, Education, Accounting). Certification in Personal Finance Education (e.g., Certified Personal Finance Educator, CFP®, Intuit Personal Finance Certification).Preferred: Experience working within the K-12 education sector, particularly in curriculum design and development, or content review. Prior experience working with CTE (Career and Technical Education) or business education programs.Skills and Attributes: Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills to bridge research with practice. Excellent writing and editing abilities for diverse educational audiences. Creative problem-solving and instructional innovation. Effective collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.
