In this role, you will design immersive visual experiences that support engaging, accessible, and effective gameplay for adult learners. This includes crafting rich environments, characters, UI, and effects that elevate both the playability and educational value of our games. This position blends visual design and game design, contributing to the visual direction of each mini game while collaborating on gameplay mechanics, player feedback, and interaction clarity. The work ensures that every learning game looks polished, plays smoothly, and delivers a memorable visual experience that enhances learning. Ideal candidates understand how visuals influence player interaction and thrive in a collaborative, cross functional production environment.Key Responsibilities •Design and illustrate detailed environments, characters, props, and visual effects for 2D and 3D educational mini games •Create UI elements and visual layouts that are intuitive, responsive, and consistent with each game's theme and tone •Translate written scripts into visually engaging gameplay experiences that support learning goals •Develop visuals that enhance feedback, support clarity, and create a sense of movement and energy •Prototype visual concepts and basic interactive scenes to test game flow, aesthetic quality, and player experience •Collaborate with developers to ensure art assets are optimized and implemented effectively in the game engine •Incorporate feedback and iterate on designs to improve clarity, engagement, and polish across all assetsQualifications •Strong illustration and visual design skills across 2D and 3D, including backgrounds, characters, UI assets, and effects •Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Photoshop, Procreate, Krita, and animation tools like Spine or DragonBones •Experience with 3D modeling or rendering tools such as Blender (or equivalent) •Understanding of core game design concepts and how visuals support interaction and player feedback •Ability to create polished, cohesive visuals that enhance clarity, pacing, and engagement •Comfortable prototyping and refining visual ideas through iteration and testing •Experience collaborating with developers, instructional designers, or cross functional teams •Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of visual hierarchy, color, and timingPhysical Requirements This is a remote, computer-based role. The position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a desk, as well as regular use of a computer, mouse, and keyboard.Additional Information •This is a contracted position. All work is project based and does not constitute an offer of employment •Contractors are responsible for providing their own computer, internet access, and working environment. Access to required software will be provided by Our English Group, LLC •Compensation and scope of work will be outlined in a separate contractor agreement •Compensation will be processed through Rippling, with currency and payment preferences set up based on contractor onboarding details •Contractors are responsible for complying with any applicable tax or invoicing requirements •All work produced is the property of Our English Group, LLC and may not be used or distributed without written permission •Selected applicants may be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement and/or independent contractor agreement prior to starting work •Contractors may be required to complete basic data security training and adhere to Our English Group, LLC confidentiality and content protection standards
