About the OrganisationVHS-Samhita is a patient-centered rehabilitation center established to deliver multispecialty primary care for children with developmental delays and disabilities from middle and low socio-economic backgrounds. The center offers comprehensive assessments, including general and systemic examinations, growth centile plotting, hearing and vision assessments, baseline blood tests as needed, and referrals to developmental pediatricians. Counseling services are also provided for parents.The center, promoted by Tiara Kids, a children's charity in collaboration with the Centre for Excellence of Rare Disorders (CERD), is located at the renowned Voluntary Health Services (VHS) in Taramani, Chennai. Care is delivered by a dedicated team of primary care physician committed to accessibility, continuity, comprehensiveness, and coordination, within the context of family and community. Additionally, the center offers consistent long-term emotional and practical support to families of children with special needs.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Speech Therapist at VHS-Samhita in Chennai. The Speech Therapist will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, communication disorders in children. The role includes developing and implementing individualised therapy plans, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting families throughout the intervention process.Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology • Experience – At least 1 year • This position is open for female candidates only • Proficiency in speech and language therapy for developmental and acquired disorders • Experience in early intervention and school readiness programs • Ability to assess and manage articulation, fluency, voice, and language delays/disorders • Collaborate with occupational therapists, pediatricians, and mental health professionals • Educate and involve parents in home-based therapy support • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills • Ability to track progress and maintain detailed session records • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to design and implement customized therapy programs based on individual needs.
