Job Title: Performance Lifestyle AdviserDepartment: PerformanceLocation: IIS Vijayanagara and IIS sites.Reports to: High Performance DirectorThe IIS Performance Lifestyle Adviser will: • Be a key part of the Performance Lifestyle (PL) Team, this team will consist of the Lead Education and athlete welfare officer.• Deliver impactful PL to IIS Sport Programs as part of a collaborative inter-disciplinary team.• Provide quality and credible individualised career, education, wellbeing, lifestyle management, and transition advice to IIS athletes to enhance athlete wellbeing and performance capabilities.Position Description: Performance Lifestyle Adviser:• Implement PL programs and individualised support to help athletes successfully navigate critical transition points in both sport and life that exist throughout their sporting career and beyond.• Design, implement, and review IIS PL programs aligned with the PL strategy and vision for athlete development which includes engaging with key stakeholders (internal and external, railways, military etc), IIS athletes, sport programs, and external partners to promote athlete wellbeing and performance.Responsibilities:Manage and deliver PL services to IIS Sport Programs. Engage and collaborate with the appropriate IIS coaches/program/performance managers to identity the key PLfactors for progression, performance and wellbeing in the IIS Sport Program. From this develop, implement and review PL Sport PlansDeliver athlete focused individualised support, that empowers the athlete to navigate the demands of High Performance sport, in balance with their wellbeing, engagement in life, career and education pursuits and personal/professional development.Alongside the athlete develop an athlete Life/Development plan that aligns with their individualized performance plans.Provide support for Induction into IIS pathway as athletes take up an IIS position. Ensure athletes are provided with support and access to resources to thrive within IIS system.Provide referrals to IIS Chief Medical officer and the Head of Performance science for any suspected Mental Health issuesWhere possible collaborate with National Sporting Organisation PL officersLeads/Manager to develop aligned practices to support high performance athletes.Develop positive working relationships with athlete stakeholders including families, coaches, and outside service providers, administrators, educators, employers.Consider wider perspectives with a focus on the needs of the athlete, when making decisions. Be able to hold multiple perspectives from a range of key personnel to support decisions that have a clear rationale and are well considered.Manage and Oversee the overall management of the IIS Alumni program, ensuring its effective functioning and growth.Collaborate with human resources personnel across the JSW Group to create a framework for employment opportunities for alumni within group companies. Explore and include non-group companies for broader employment opportunities for alumni.Identify and facilitate upskilling opportunities based on the varying needs of the different alumni cohorts, ensuring continued professional development.Oversee the management of the IIS Alumni website, ensuring alignment with stakeholders on the website's look and feel, key information, and regular updates.Curate the annual alumni engagement calendar and manage the execution of events, including alumni gatherings, meet-and-greet sessions with current athletes, and involvement in fundraising efforts.Establish an Alumni portal, giving each alumnus access to personalized resources and information relevant to their growth and engagement with IIS.Experience:Awareness of the contemporary issues relating to athletes and coaches within high performance sport and understanding of the ISS High Performance sport systems.Experience of working collaboratively in Interdisciplinary and/or Performance Health Teams with a positive and optimistic approach.Ability to build rapport and empathy with athletes and coaches.Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.Experience working with and knowledge of education providers in India.Experience in workshop delivery and development of engaging content and resources.Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, observe confidentiality and use discretion and initiative.Demonstrated ability to work within a team as well as the ability to work independently.
