Job description Job Title: Accountant Department: Finance & Accounts Location: Chennai Employment Type: Full-timeJob Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of our interior design and architecture firm. The ideal candidate will be responsible for budgeting, cost tracking, invoicing, vendor payments, tax filings, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Experience in project-based accounting or construction/interior industry accounting is highly preferred.Key Responsibilities:* Maintain accurate books of accounts, ledgers, and journals. * Manage accounts payable and receivable. * Prepare and track project budgets and cost estimates. * Generate client invoices based on project progress and contracts. * Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for timely payments and reconciliations. * Monitor and report on cash flow, project profitability, and financial health. * Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, and other tax filings. * Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. * Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and banks as required. * Handle payroll processing and employee reimbursement claims. * Maintain asset and inventory records for the firm. * Use accounting software (e.g., Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks) for data entry and financial reporting.Qualifications and Skills:* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (, , or CA Inter preferred). * 2+ years of accounting experience (preferably in architecture/interior/construction firms). * Strong knowledge of TDS, GST, and Indian tax regulations. * Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. * Strong analytical and organizational skills. * Ability to manage multiple project accounts and deadlines. * Attention to detail and confidentiality.Preferred Skills:* Knowledge of project costing and BOQ-based billing. * Experience working with architects, designers, or contractors.
