Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and skilledRobotics Hardware Design Engineerwith 2–3 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of robotic systems. This role involves end-to-end involvement in conceptualizing, designing, prototyping, testing, and iterating mechanical components and subsystems for our robotic platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including electronics, software,hardware and operations to ensure seamless product integration and functional excellence. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the mechanical design of robotic components, assemblies, and mechanisms. Translate product requirements into 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM). Collaborate with electronics and software teams to ensure design compatibility and system-level integration. Participate in design reviews, prototype iterations, and validation tests. Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles and support transition from prototype to production. Coordinate with vendors for fabrication, sourcing, and quality control of mechanical components. Create and maintain technical documentation, including assembly guides and design reports. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Mechatronics, or a related field. 2–3 years of industry experience in mechanical/product design, preferably in robotics, automation, or mechatronic systems. Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360). Solid understanding of mechanical design fundamentals: Kinematics Mechanism design Materials and manufacturing Tolerance stack-up Fasteners, motion components, and bearings Strong knowledge of fit types (clearance, interference, etc.) and application of GD&T for precise manufacturing Experience performing load path analysis, torque estimation, and basic structural analysis for robotic mechanisms Experience with rapid prototyping and testing physical components. Working knowledge of how mechanical systems interface with electronics and embedded software. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Preferred to Have Experience with DFM, rapid prototyping (3D printing, CNC, laser cutting, etc.) Familiarity with FEA, motion simulation, or other mechanical analysis tools. Exposure to robotics projects (either professional or academic) involving real-time motion systems, manipulators, etc. Basic understanding of motor selection, drive-train design, and sensor integration. Prior experience in preparing and presenting design documentation for stakeholder review.
