Experience of administrating other RDBMS, ideally on the cloud, would be a distinct advantage. Roles & Responsibilities: Installing, configuring, patching and maintaining Sybase databases across Development and Test environments. Provide Development support – including writing and debugging stored procedures, testing scripts, mock data creation. Monitoring and analysing Sybase logs to ensure database availability and integrity. Creation and maintenance of databases, roles, and permissions, performance tuning, query optimization, and backup/recovery. Security Management: Ensuring databases environments are secure, compliant and in line with Bank standards. Experience debugging, tuning, modifying, and creating complex stored procedures. Using knowledge and experience around security, backup, recovery, and archiving make recommendations regarding process improvements. Utilize database and shell scripting for routine database tasks. Experience/Qualifications 5+ years’ experience working as a Sybase Database Administrator. Strong written and verbal communication. Comfortable writing and analysing complicated stored procedures, involving queries using complex joins and filter criteria. Batch scripting skills. PowerShell is a plus. Not mandatory, but some Java knowledge is a plus.
