Job Title VBA Automation Specialist / VBA Automation Developer Location – Bangalore Work Mode – Hybrid Experience Required - Minimum 8 Years in VBA Automation Availability – Immediate Joiners Preferred (Within 10 – 15 days)Role Summary (Job Description): We are seeking a VBA Automation Specialist to design, build, and maintain high‑performance Excel/VBA solutions, streamline manual processes, and integrate data from multiple sources (SharePoint, SAP extracts, CSV/SQL, Power BI). The role requires deep expertise in optimizing legacy macros, creating user-friendly tools (UserForms, add‑ins, Advanced concepts like dictionaries), robust error handling, and clear documentation. The ideal candidate can translate ambiguous business requests into reliable technical solutions, collaborate directly with stakeholders, and provide ongoing support and enhancements.Required Skills:Excel VBA (UserForms, Class Modules, Add‑ins, Arrays/Dictionaries, optimization), Excel Object Model & Power Query, SQL (SELECT/JOIN via ADO/ODBC), SharePoint/OneDrive automation & version control, Power BI (dashboards/DAX/refresh), robust error handling/logging & data validation, requirement gathering & customer interaction, end‑to‑end delivery ownership.Key Responsibilities: Develop, enhance, and maintain Excel/VBA macros, UserForms, class modules, and add‑ins (32/64‑bit compatible). Automate manual workflows (data import/merge, cleansing, transformation, reporting) across multiple files and sources. Write and optimize basic–intermediate SQL queries (SELECT/JOIN/AGGREGATE), connect Excel/VBA to databases via ADO/ODBC, and integrate query outputs into reports/dashboards. Optimize legacy VBA code for speed and maintainability using arrays, dictionaries/collections, screen updating control, late binding, etc. Implement robust error handling, centralized logging, audit trails, and maintain version/change logs. Integrate Excel solutions with SharePoint/OneDrive for file I/O, versioning, and automated distribution/updates. Build and support dashboards/reports (Excel/Power BI) and set up automated refresh processes. Ensure data integrity through validation rules, edge‑case handling, and clear documentation of data flows. Reverse‑engineer, understand, and refactor existing VBA codebases and Excel dashboards quickly and accurately. Gather and clarify requirements directly from business users; translate ambiguous asks into solid technical solutions. Conduct demos, trainings, and handovers; create user guides/SOPs and provide ongoing L2/L3 support. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Ops/Finance/Supply Chain/IT) and participate in ticketing/Agile routines. Proactively identify new automation opportunities and recommend process improvements beyond Excel when feasible. Take initiative and own end‑to‑end delivery—from requirement gathering and design through build, test, deploy, training, and ongoing support.
