We take a proactive approach to security by continuously monitoring and testing our clients' digital environments to identify vulnerabilities.Role DescriptionWe are seeking a highly experienced Freelance Tandem Application Developer to support the enhancement and modernization of our Laboratory Information System (LIS) and its integration with diagnostic instruments. This role requires deep expertise in HP NonStop (Tandem) environments, including development in TAL, C, C++, Enscribe, SQL/MP or SQL/MX, and Pathway-based systems. You’ll play a crucial part in ensuring high availability, performance, and maintainability of mission-critical systems in a healthcare setting.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, enhance, and support Tandem-based applications in TAL, C, and C++Design and optimize file structures using Enscribe and NonStop SQL/MP or SQL/MXImplement and maintain Pathway server classes, requesters, and IPC routinesWrite and manage TACL scripts for automation, job control, and monitoringInterface with diagnostic instruments via serial/OSS-based listenersDevelop high-throughput transaction processing modulesTroubleshoot and debug using tools like INSPECT, TDEBUG, and GDBParticipate in requirements analysis, testing, and deployment cyclesOptionally support legacy COBOL-based components for claims workflowsMust-Have Technical Skills:Advanced TAL (Transaction Application Language)Strong proficiency in C / C++ on HP NonStopHands-on experience with Enscribe file systems (keyed/unkeyed, >2GB handling)Proficient in NonStop SQL/MP or SQL/MX (schema design, procedures, joins, tuning)Experience working with Pathway (server classes, requesters, IPC)Strong scripting with TACL (automation, diagnostics, deployment)Familiarity with both Guardian and OSS environmentsDebugging with INSPECT, TDEBUG, GDBNice to Have:Experience in COBOL on Tandem (legacy support)Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, memory managementExposure to CI/CD, version control systems (Git preferred)Ideal Candidate8+ years of experience in Tandem application developmentStrong understanding of high-availability systems and medical data workflowsSelf-driven and comfortable working independently in a remote settingStrong communication skills to interact with global teams and stakeholders
