Title Senior Network Engineer-SDWANLocation: PuneExperience: 10+ yearsRoles and Responsibilities:Role OverviewWe are seeking a certified and experienced SD-WAN Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and support SD-WAN operations, implementations, and development initiatives. The ideal candidate must have end-to-end experience deploying SD-WAN for 200+ sites, strong troubleshooting (L3-level) capabilities, and hands-on development/integration experience in complex enterprise networking environments.Key ResponsibilitiesImplementation (Primary Focus)Lead SD-WAN rollout for large-scale enterprise environments (200+ sites).Design and configure SD-WAN overlays/underlays including segmentation, QoS, VPNs, and security policies.Lead migrations from legacy MPLS/Internet to SD-WAN.Prepare and review HLDs/LLDs, project plans, and deployment documentation.Coordinate with multiple stakeholders and vendors during site cutovers and validation.Support (L3 / SME Level)Act as the highest point of technical escalation for SD-WAN incidents.Conduct root cause analysis for complex WAN disruptions and service degradations.Monitor and optimize network performance using analytics and monitoring tools.Provide mentorship to L1/L2 engineers and create knowledge base articles.Represent the team in change advisory board (CAB) meetings and audits.Development / AutomationContribute to automation of SD-WAN operations (scripts, APIs, Ansible, etc.).Develop integrations with network management tools and SIEM/logging systems.Participate in continuous improvement by designing tools/utilities for network performance insights.Collaborate with development teams to align SD-WAN configurations with custom application needs.Required Skills & ExperienceCertifications (Mandatory):Cisco SD-WAN Specialist / CCNP-Enterprise / NSE 4 or above (Fortinet) / VMware VCP-NVPlatforms:Strong hands-on with Cisco Viptela, Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, or VMware SD-WAN (Velocloud)Implementation:Proven SD-WAN deployment experience for 200+ sitesSupport Expertise:L3-level troubleshooting (routing, tunnels, overlays, app-aware routing)Protocols & Technologies:BGP, OSPF, IPsec, NAT, DNS, DHCP, QoS, segmentation, VPN, SLA-based routingTools & Automation:Experience in scripting (Python, Ansible), API usage, and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, AppNeta, PRTG, etc.)Soft SkillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management.Strong documentation, reporting, and project tracking skills.Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and interact with customers.Education & CertificationsBachelor's or Master's in Computer Science / IT / Electronics or equivalent.Industry Certifications (One or more mandatory):Cisco SD-WAN Specialist, CCNP Enterprise, Fortinet NSE 4/5/6, VMware VCP-NV, SD-WAN vendor-specific certs
