Check out our award-winning intelligent desk - and our website - About the Role: We’re looking for a Design Generalist Intern to join our team at Charcoal. We are a product company that designs everything from the ground up: product, packaging, identity, communication, and experience. As a design generalist, you’ll work  across every layer of the design process, from hands-on physical product prototyping to crafting the visual and verbal identity of the brand. If, you love physical products just as much as you love a beautifully set piece of type; You care deeply about brand voice and storytelling, not just surface-level aesthetics; You get excited about both hands-on prototyping and spontaneous brainstorming sessions. And you’re totally comfortable going from sketching a packaging dieline in the morning to putting together a photoshoot moodboard by the afternoon. What You Have: You’ve completed a design course or are in your final year of one (industrial/product/visual/communication design) Your portfolio demonstrates range, not just skills in one area, but curiosity across many You’re comfortable with the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, XD etc.) You have a genuine interest in products, materials, branding, and storytelling Bonus: You think in systems, love a good typeface, and obsess over packaging like it’s sculpture.
