Position Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and driven professional to lead our Waste Management vertical. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the industrial and waste ecosystem, strong business acumen, and a robust network in the logistics and manufacturing industries. This is a leadership role that combines business development, operations, compliance, and stakeholder management. Key Responsibilities: Drive growth of the waste management vertical through strategic partnerships and client acquisition. Leverage existing industrial and logistics contacts to generate leads and build long-term partnerships. Identify emerging opportunities in waste collection, recycling, and circular economy initiatives. Lead end-to-end execution of waste management projects – including collection, segregation, transport, treatment, and disposal. Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely and compliant waste movement. Ensure resource optimization and cost-effective service delivery. Ensure all waste handling, transportation, and disposal comply with local body regulations. Build and manage a strong ground team and vendor network. Train staff on safe handling, compliance, and documentation practices. Develop and maintain a strong vendor ecosystem across transporters, treatment facilities, and recyclers. Negotiate commercial terms and ensure service quality from third-party providers. Develop and implement operational plans aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. Establish performance metrics and KPIs for operational efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Identify areas for cost optimization, process automation, and efficiency improvements. Design, document, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all operational functions. Must be open to travel for operational coordination and on-ground support, as per business needs. Key Requirements: 8–15 years of experience in waste management, preferably in industrial settings. Must have a strong understanding of paper and plastic waste streams , including recycling processes and relevant regulations. Strong network of industrial and logistics contacts (especially with manufacturing clusters, SEZs, and logistics hubs). In-depth knowledge of Waste Management Rules (2016), EPR, and environmental compliance requirements. Demonstrated success in scaling waste operations or verticals. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualities: Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach. Experience working with government agencies or sustainability initiatives. Comfortable with fieldwork and on-ground team coordination.
