Position Overview We are inviting applications for the position of Assistant Professor – Pre-Production, Dept. of AVGC. The ideal candidate should possess a strong Fine Arts background with expertise ranging from traditional sketching, drawing, and painting to advanced visual storytelling, storyboarding, comics, and illustrations. This role is pivotal in building the artistic and conceptual foundation for students entering Animation, VFX, Gaming, and Comics streams. Key Responsibilities Conduct and mentor studio-based classes in: * Sketching & Drawing * Perspective and Composition * Life Drawing & Anatomy Studies * Traditional & Digital Painting * Color Theory * Storyboarding, Comics & Sequential Art * Visual Storytelling for Animation and Gaming Pre-production * Design course plans, lesson materials, assignments, and assessments. * Foster creativity, observation, and strong visualization skills among students. * Provide individualized feedback and portfolio guidance. * Align foundation curriculum with AVGC industry requirements and program outcomes. * Engage in continuous curriculum development and academic administration. * Organize and participate in workshops, student exhibitions, and industry interactions. * Stay updated with current trends, tools, and techniques in art, design, and pre-production. Qualifications Essential: * Master’s Degree in Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Visual Arts, Illustration, or a closely related field. * Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in drawing, painting, illustration, storyboarding, and visual storytelling. * Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience at senior secondary/higher education level or professional art training institutes. * Familiarity with both traditional media and digital tools (Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio, etc.). * Demonstrated passion for teaching and mentoring creative learners. Desirable: * Exposure to Animation Pre-production, Comics Creation, Game Art, or related AVGC domains. * Experience in conducting workshops, masterclasses, or portfolio reviews. * Industry experience or practice-based creative projects. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
