Senior Generative AI Azure OpenAI Prompt Engineer Experience Level: 5 to 8 years Positions: 2 Locations: Any Accion Labs offices in India; Preference - Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Noida, Hyderabad. Notice Period: Immediate joiners are the preference, Serving NP candidates who can join within 20 days are needed strictly. Job Description: What is This Role? (High-Level Summary) This role is for a Generative AI Engineer / LLM Application Developer who specializes in building LLM-powered applications on Azure , with a focus on real-world use cases like: Chatbots Document summarization and parsing Decision support systems Enterprise search via Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) It's a hybrid role combining ML engineering , software development , and cloud infrastructure , with heavy use of Azure's AI ecosystem. Core Competencies to Look For: LLM Application Development Can you build end-to-end apps using GPT-4 or similar? Look for project experience (e.g., a chatbot, summarizer, etc.) Azure OpenAI + Cognitive Services Do you understand how to deploy, scale, and manage models using Azure’s tools and APIs? Ask for hands-on experience with Azure AI Studio, AI Search, and OpenAI services. Prompt Engineering Can you demonstrate the difference between bad, good, and optimized prompts? Ask them to walk through a real-world prompt tuning example. RAG Systems Do you understand how to combine LLMs with a document retrieval system? Look for familiarity with vector databases or Azure AI Search. GenAI Toolkits Have you used LangChain, Prompt Flow, or Semantic Kernel? Ask for a demo or whiteboard session to explain how they’d use these tools in a pipeline. MLOps + Integration Can you automate and monitor AI apps using Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or Event Grid? Evaluate their system design skills. Python & REST APIs Are you comfortable writing clean Python code to interact with APIs, handle JSON responses, and integrate with cloud services? Soft Skills / Collaboration Skills What to Look For Cross-functional communication Can they talk with business/product teams and translate needs into technical LLM pipelines? Cost-aware mindset Do they understand how token usage affects cost and how to optimize it? Security & Governance awareness Are they aware of Azure identity, permissions, and responsible AI practices?
