Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD) is seeking a technically skilled and design-savvy individual to join our Communication Design department as a Technical Faculty . The role involves supporting studio-based courses and design modules by imparting technical instruction and ensuring students gain hands-on proficiency in digital and print-based tools, design software, and production processes. At IIAD's Communication Design department, we deliver a comprehensive education that embraces the diverse aspects of communication design. Drawing upon a decade of experience in higher education, our team fosters dynamic, interactive, and collaborative learning environments. We emphasize multidisciplinary research, a process-driven approach, and strategic integration of technology to enrich the educational experience. The ideal candidate should possess strong practical knowledge in visual communication tools and technologies and be passionate about mentoring students in technical skills that bridge concept with execution. Key Responsibilities Deliver technical instruction across digital and print design workflows Support students in translating conceptual ideas into high-quality outcomes Assist in the setup of jury-ready submissions, exhibitions, and showcases Integrate evolving design tools, including AI and generative technologies, into classroom practice Recommend upgrades and new software tools that enhance the learning environment Required Technical Expertise Figma & Adobe XD for screen-based and interactive prototyping Adobe Creative Suite – Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, After Effects, Premiere Pro Print production processes – file preparation, layout finalization, output for display Digital fabrication and prototyping tools Working knowledge of Unity and Blender is an added advantage Candidate Profile Degree/Diploma in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Media Arts, or a related discipline 3–5 years of professional experience in a technical, design, or instructional role (prior educational experience preferred) Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to mentor students effectively Familiarity with project documentation and collaboration tools such as Notion and Miro Willingness to keep pace with evolving design tech, including generative and AI-based workflows This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about shaping the next generation of designers and contributing to a vibrant academic community that values innovation, process, and collaboration.
