Job Description

Job Title: BOP Procurement-AGM Job Location: Chennai Detailed Description: Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers for electrical equipment (exclusively for Pooling substation, Grid Substation, EHV & HV Transmission line, GI Tower structures, RSJ & PCC Poles, Al conductors, Unit substation and SCADA related accessories) assessing their reliability and maintaining relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery. Contract Negotiation: Negotiating contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and conditions, including cost, delivery, and quality parameters. Procurement Process Management: Managing the entire procurement process, from placing orders through SAP to tracking delivery and ensuring compliance with project timelines and budgets. Technical Specification Review: Reviewing technical specifications and drawings to ensure that procured materials and equipment meet project requirements. Cost Management: Monitoring and controlling procurement costs to ensure adherence to project budgets and identifying opportunities for cost savings. Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all procured materials meet the required quality standards and specifications, implementing quality control measures, and conducting inspections as necessary. Inventory Management: Coordinating with project teams to manage inventory levels of electrical materials, minimizing excess inventory while ensuring adequate supply. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities, generating reports on procurement performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as engineers and project managers, to understand their needs and ensure effective communication throughout the procurement process. Market Trend Analysis: Monitoring market trends and technological advancements to identify potential opportunities and challenges in the electrical procurement landscape. Required Skills: Technical Knowledge Skill: Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and equipment, including relevant industry standards and regulations. Procurement Expertise Skill: Experience in procurement processes, contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost control. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze technical specifications, evaluate supplier proposals, and resolve procurement-related issues. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and team members. Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate the cost based on market trend and best contract terms and conditions with suppliers.
