About the Role The Analyst/Sr. Analyst Management Consulting will be responsible for assisting in execution of assignments in Regulatory, Policy, Tariff (MYT filing), PPA approvals, optimization of fuel cost or Commercial related matters pertaining to Generation, and Distribution Utilities. Bid Process management for procurement of power for distribution licensees, Preparation of papers/ concepts on initiative/ projects, assessment of the initiative/ project, internal feasibility of the project etc. Advising on the Amendments in the different Regulations, Acts, Policies, and Plan etc. and periodic review of regulatory developments in SERC/ CERC/ CEA/ MOP. Power point presentations for clients top management to represent in the webinars/Seminars. B. Detailed expectations from the role The Analyst/Sr. Analyst will be reporting to the Project Leader, the key (broadly indicative) expectations shall be as below: Stay updated on energy policies, regulations and incentives, particularly related to power generation, power purchase, renewable energy, etc. Analyze policy implications, assess their impact on project development and provide recommendations to clients. Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, provide consulting services and deliver solutions aligned with their objective of the assignment. Assist in client presentations, prepare reports and effectively communicate findings and recommendations. Support in execution of projects in co-ordination with team leader and team members, ensuring submission of quality deliverables within timelines. Client interactions/ discussions/ meetings whenever necessary C. Required skill set Should be able to do multi-tasking on assignments and be able to deliver in typical consulting environment. Must have experience in financial and tariff modeling specific to the power sector. Should possess hands-on experience in working on policy, regulations, regulatory due-diligence, PPA approvals, Fuel cost related analysis, credit rating etc. for Govt./ Private power Utilities. Should have assisted multiple power sector clients such as Private/State/Central Generators/ Electricity Regulatory Commissions/Rating Agencies, Government & Private Power Utilities, electricity consumer associations etc. Should stay well-informed about the latest trends and developments in the power sector regulatory landscape, including new policy notifications, amendments to the Electricity Act, and emerging regulations. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Should demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Must have a proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team. Should be proficient in data analysis and adept at using presentation tools. Must have expertise in conducting in-depth research. D. Education and Experience B.E/B.Tech (mandatory) + MBA (Finance/Power Management) - Preferred or CA At least 2 years of relevant experience in a reputed consulting firm/Generation and Distribution Utilities/SERCs/Think tanks/Rating Agencies Experience of multiple assignments in Policy and Regulatory of power sector. Preference will be given to candidates having experience of working in Tamil Nadu E. Work Location Chennai Open to travel for project execution and management. F.
