This role requires a deep subject matter expert who will be responsible for the overall strategy, design, implementation, and optimization of the Tenable suite across complex, multi-location environments. You will architect solutions that provide comprehensive visibility into our cyber risk, ensuring that our infrastructure—spanning on-premise data centers, global remote sites, and multiple cloud environments—is effectively and continuously assessed for vulnerabilities. (We pay great salaries)ResponsibilitiesSolution Architecture & Design:Architect and design a comprehensive, scalable, and resilient Tenable vulnerability management solution, includingTenable.sc (SecurityCenter) ,Tenable.io ,Nessus Network Monitors , andNessus Agents , tailored for a large, geographically dispersed enterprise. Implementation & Integration:Lead the implementation, configuration, and deployment of Tenable components across diverse networks. Integrate the Tenable platform with other critical security and IT systems, such as SIEM, ticketing systems (ServiceNow/Jira), asset management databases (CMDB), and patch management solutions. Strategic Vulnerability Management:Develop and maintain the enterprise vulnerability management strategy, policies, standards, and operational playbooks. Define and optimize scanning strategies (e.g., authenticated vs. unauthenticated, agent vs. network) to ensure maximum coverage with minimal business disruption. Reporting & Analytics:Create and customize advanced dashboards, reports, and metrics to provide actionable insights into the organization's vulnerability posture. Translate technical vulnerability data into clear business risk for technical teams, management, and executive leadership. Platform Optimization & Health:Proactively monitor the health, performance, and capacity of the Tenable infrastructure. Plan and execute upgrades, and troubleshoot complex platform-related issues. Expert Guidance:Serve as the top-level subject matter expert for the Tenable platform, providing mentorship, training, and tier-3 support to security analysts, system administrators, and application owners. Compliance & Auditing:Leverage the Tenable platform to support compliance and audit requirements, configuring scans and reports for frameworks like PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and CIS Benchmarks.QualificationsA minimum of5 years of hands-on experiencespecifically with theTenable product suite , with a proven track record ofdesigning and implementing solutions in large-scale, multi-location environments . Deep technical expertise withTenable.sc (SecurityCenter)and/orTenable.io , including advanced knowledge ofNessus scannersandNessus Agents . Strong understanding of enterprise networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, NAT, VLANs) and how they impact vulnerability scanning across complex network topologies. Proficiency with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux) and expertise in configuring and troubleshooting authenticated scans. Hands-on experience deploying and managing vulnerability scanning in major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to the platform and scanning operations. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Preferred ExperienceTenable Certified Security Engineer (TCSE)orTenable Certified SecurityCenter Engineer (TCSCE) certification is highly preferred. Broader industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or relevant GIAC credentials. Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating tasks and interacting with the Tenable API. Experience with Tenable's solutions for container security ( Tenable.cs ) or Operational Technology ( Tenable.ot ). Experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or with incident response activities.Contract DetailsEngagement Type:This is a contract-based position.
