We are looking for a Digital Pathology + AI/ML Expert who can bridge both worlds — someone who understands the science behind pathology slides and the technology to extract meaningful patterns from them. Whether you’ve built CNN-based models, worked on data pipelines for whole slide images, or explored foundational models for pathology, this role is your chance to work on impactful projects from concept to deployment. Position Digital Pathology, AI & ML Expert Location: Pune (Hybrid; remote options for exceptional circumstances) Key Responsibilities Develop and fine-tune AI models for pathology tasks, including cell/tissue classification, segmentation, and biomarker quantification. Handle large-scale whole slide image (WSI) datasets — from ingestion to preprocessing to model-ready formats. Experiment with both classical CNN architectures and foundational models (e.g., Virchow, CLAM, HIPT, MESMER). Collaborate with domain experts in pathology and oncology to define problem statements and evaluation criteria. Ensure reproducibility and scalability of AI workflows for research and clinical use. Qualifications Strong experience in digital pathology workflows — data management, annotation, preprocessing. Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn). Experience with CNN-based image analysis; exposure to foundational pathology models a plus. Understanding of pathology image formats (SVS, NDPI, TIFF) and libraries (OpenSlide, MONAI, QuPath). Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. Bonus: Experience with clinical or research datasets in oncology.
