SAP Expert Architect (Energy Domain with SAP MM, PM) - Abu Dhabi Onsite Experience: 15+ Years Work Location: ABu DHabi, UAE(Onsite Position) We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior SAP Architect Expert to lead the design, development, and governance of SAP solutions within our energy operations. This role is pivotal in aligning SAP technologies with the unique regulatory, safety, and operational requirements of the nuclear industry. The ideal candidate will bring deep SAP expertise, a strong understanding of nuclear compliance frameworks, and experience integrating SAP with operation management systems in high-security environments. As a strategic leader, you will be responsible for defining the SAP architecture roadmap, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enabling digital transformation initiatives that support plant operations, maintenance, and lifecycle management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, cybersecurity, compliance, and operations, to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing SAP solutions. You will be also a key contributor to our SAP migration from ECC to S4. Key Responsibilities 1. SAP Architecture Leadership in Nuclear Context Define and maintain the SAP enterprise architecture roadmap tailored to energy operations, including asset management, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Lead the design and integration of SAP ECC and S/4HANA and related modules (e.g., PM, EAM, QM, MM) to support nuclear plant operations, outage management, and safety-critical workflows. Ensure SAP architecture aligns with nuclear industry standards such as IAEA, and INPO guidelines. Oversee the implementation of SAP S4Hana, SAP Fiori Must be expert and have a deep understanding with the following ERP processes and modules: Plant Maintenance (PM) Material Management (MM) Procurement & Inventory Quality Management (QM) Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Warehouse Management Work Clearance Management (WCM) Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Finance & Controlling (FI/CO) Project System (PS) Human Capital Management (HCM) SAP ARIBA SAP SuccessFactors 2. Regulatory Compliance & Governance Implement architecture frameworks that support compliance with best practices and high standards. Ensure SAP systems support auditability, traceability, and documentation requirements for nuclear safety and quality assurance. Collaborate with compliance officers and QA teams to embed regulatory controls into SAP processes and data models. Maintain documentation and change control processes. 3. Cybersecurity & Critical Infrastructure Protection Design SAP solutions that support cybersecurity defense-in-depth strategies, ensuring protection of critical digital assets (CDAs) and systems (CSs) from both internal and external threats. 4. Integration with Operation Management Systems (OMS) Design secure and reliable integration between SAP and Operations Management Systems such as Hitachi eSOMS, Devonway, Primavera and other 3rd party solutions. Ensure data integrity and real-time synchronization between SAP and other systems. 5. Strategic Planning & Innovation Drive digital transformation initiatives by leveraging SAP technologies to modernize nuclear operations, including mobile work management, digital permits, and AI-driven analytics. Evaluate emerging SAP and industry technologies (e.g., SAP Asset Performance Management, SAP Predictive Engineering Insights) for applicability in nuclear environments. Develop long-term SAP strategies that support plant life extension. Lead feasibility studies and proof-of-concept initiatives for new SAP capabilities in nuclear applications. 6. Technical Leadership & Mentoring Interact with cross-functional teams of SAP consultants, developers, and nuclear domain experts. Provide architectural guidance throughout the SAP project lifecycle, from blueprinting to go-live and support. Promote knowledge sharing across IT teams. Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and performance assessments to ensure solution quality and compliance. Required Qualifications Education Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Architect, SAP Certified Application Associate) are highly desirable. Additional certifications in nuclear safety, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF, CISSP) are a plus. Experience Minimum of 10 years of SAP Architect experience, with at least 5 years in a senior architecture role. Proven experience in SAP implementations within highly regulated industries—preferably, energy, or utilities. Hands-on experience with SAP ECC, S/4HANA, SAP EAM, SAP PM, and integration with other systems. Experience with SAP Finance, SAP GRC, SAP EH&S, and SAP Analytics Cloud for compliance and reporting. Technical Skills Expertise in SAP architecture, data modeling, and integration patterns. Proficiency in ABAP, SAPUI5 and SAP Fiori. Experience with SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, SAP RISE, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS). Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, IEC 62645) and secure SAP deployment practices in critical infrastructure. Familiarity with DevOps practices and SAP Solution Manager.
