Job Role: AVP, Controls Assurance Location: Pune Work Mode: Onsite About the Role: We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Control Assurance to help strengthen our internal controls and risk management practices. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate across departments , perform in-depth control assessments , and guide the business with insights to reduce risk, enhance compliance, and support strategic objectives. This role requires strong problem-solving, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders — all while ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal control framework. Key Responsibilities: Execute ad-hoc and planned assessments to test control design and operating effectiveness across key business areas. Develop detailed test plans, control procedures, and assurance reviews aligned with internal standards and risk frameworks. Identify control weaknesses and recommend corrective actions , prioritised by impact on operations, financial loss, or reputation. Communicate key findings to senior stakeholders, ensuring timely resolution and long-term process improvement. Maintain a central knowledge hub for control documentation, findings, test results, and training materials. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize assurance methodologies and share best practices across the organization. Contribute to training and upskilling colleagues on risk, controls, and assurance practices. What We're Looking For: 7+ years of experience in Controls Assurance, Risk Testing, Internal Audit, or Governance roles. Expertise in control design and operational effectiveness testing methodologies . Strong knowledge of risk domains such as: Data governance, data quality, and lineage Records management (retention/disposal) People/HR risk Third-party/supplier risk Premises and global resiliency services (GRS) Working knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Qlik, Power BI) and how they support assurance. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent). Advanced certifications such as CA, CIA, CS, MBA are a plus. Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence, consult, and advise at all levels. Clear communication skills with the ability to present complex insights clearly and confidently.
