Country Head - Ocean Import Services, India Subcontinent Region / Leadership Role - Top MNC Reports To: Director – Ocean Services Location: Mumbai (BOM) Position Summary This role will lead Ocean Import growth and management for the India Subcontinent (ISC) Region. You’ll be the driving force behind business development, product innovation, operational excellence, and strategic growth —while ensuring employee engagement, network integrity, and alignment with ocean strategy. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Set, support, and achieve ISC Ocean Import targets aligned with goals. Develop and mentor ISC Ocean Import & Ocean Product Managers. Build strategies to expand LCL business in sync & global plans. Business Growth & Market Development Drive revenue and container volume growth in the import segment. Boost market share and profitability through sales and business development initiatives . Strengthen carrier partnerships , manage space allocations, and optimize procurement. Operations & Process Excellence Improve productivity, efficiency, and system adoption across ISC offices. Standardize operations in line with global benchmarks . Support tactical business plan projects and ensure business continuity readiness . Collaboration & Alignment Partner with Ocean, ISC Sales, Account Management, Projects, Training, and Finance teams to elevate product performance. Support trade lane teams with bid pricing, procurement, and strategic negotiations . Coordinate with regional pricing teams for bid management. Performance & Innovation Monitor performance metrics, identify gaps, and execute improvement plans. Champion process innovation, operational tools, and digital migration projects . Lead and support driven product initiatives. Experience & Education 3+ years in an ocean freight managerial role (Product Manager or Country Manager level) OR 5+ years in a senior management role involving ocean product leadership. Proven market knowledge and ocean freight expertise . Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to influence at all levels.
