Job Description: Library Intern (Entry Level) Job Title: Intern - Library Reports to: Deputy Librarian Experience Required: 0–2 years of relevant experience in library operations, cataloguing, or academic resource management. Prior internship or volunteer experience in a library setting is desirable. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or any discipline with a strong interest in academic research and resource management. Enrollment in or completion of a Master’s in Library and Information Science (MLIS) is an advantage. The Accounts Manager is crucial in ensuring financial sustainability and regulatory compliance while supporting the strategic vision of the University. Key Responsibilities Assist in cataloguing, classification, and shelving of books, journals, and digital resources. Support the circulation desk by issuing, returning, and renewing library materials. Help maintain the digital library system and update metadata for e-resources. Guide students and faculty in locating and accessing library materials. Participate in inventory audits and help ensure proper documentation of resources. Assist in organizing library events, workshops, and exhibitions. Maintain a quiet, welcoming, and organized library environment. Contribute to the development of user guides and resource manuals. Provide administrative support to the Librarian and library staff as needed. Preferred Skills & Qualities Familiarity with library management systems (Koha, DSpace, etc.) and digital archiving tools. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Good communication and interpersonal abilities. Attention to detail and a service-oriented mindset. Basic proficiency in MS Office and internet research tools. Passion for books, learning, and academic engagement. Compensation & Benefits This is a paid internship. Stipend will be commensurate with qualifications and aligned with university internship norms. Interns may receive a certificate of completion and recommendation based on performance.
