Arudra Engineers Pvt Ltd , Chennai, is looking to strengthen its Bulk Material Handling Division (MHD) — a core business vertical specializing in the design, manufacture, and installation of conveyor systems, loading/unloading solutions, storage silos, and other bulk material handling equipment for process industries. To support our growing portfolio of industrial projects, we are hiring a skilled and detail-oriented Full-Time Designer (CAD) who can bring engineering concepts to life through accurate, high-quality designs and layouts. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of bulk material handling systems , strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent), and the ability to work closely with engineering, project, and fabrication teams. They should be well-organized, attentive to detail, and committed to delivering designs that meet technical, safety, and quality standards. A. Roles & Responsibilities 1. Design & Drafting Prepare detailed engineering drawings and layouts for bulk material handling equipment and systems. Translate conceptual designs into precise CAD drawings as per project specifications. Maintain company drawing standards, including layers, annotations, and file naming protocols. 2. CAD Operations Develop 2D and/or 3D models for structural, mechanical, and handling components. Revise and update drawings based on engineer, project manager, or client feedback. Ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to industrial standards. 3. Project Coordination Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand technical requirements. Provide fabrication-ready shop drawings and assembly details to manufacturing teams. Coordinate with vendors for design clarifications and component specifications. 4. Documentation & File Management Maintain an organized repository of all drawings, models, and revisions. Prepare drawing registers, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical data sheets. 5. Quality & Standards Ensure designs comply with safety, operational, and quality guidelines. Apply industry best practices to optimize design efficiency and manufacturability. B. Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Work Experience – 1–3 years in industrial design / CAD drafting (Bulk Material Handling experience preferred). Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar). Knowledge of fabrication, installation, and assembly processes for industrial equipment. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
