Primary Purpose: Reports to the Manager of Fuel Equipment Design. Perform Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) modeling and analysis in support of contract execution and product development efforts. Equipment to be analyzed will primarily include low NOx burners, overfire air and furnace systems as well as SCR and SO2 scrubber systems. Work with project teams in Marlborough, MA office to develop proposals, interface with clients, and execute contract and project analysis and reporting. Support sales, proposals and marketing to promote and increase sales of CFD modeling capability. The candidate will manage/develop standard modeling practices for common equipment to ensure the highest accuracy while being cost/schedule efficient. The candidate will be responsible for developing proposed development projects in the area of modeling and analysis to support the core business strategy and objectives. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCES: • PhD or Masters in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with an emphasis on fluid flow and thermal analysis (preferred). • Bachelor in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with experience and/or emphasis on power generation industry will be considered. • Foundation in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, chemical reactions and combustion. • Three (3) to Five (5) years experience in CFD modeling, preferably applied to industrial problems. • Working knowledge of low NOx burners and other environmental emissions control equipment. • Must be proficient in CFD modeling including reacting flow models, good knowledge of ANSYS CFD software. • Must be self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision. • Minor travel will be required. • Good oral and written communication skills a must.
