Position Overview: This position is responsible for execution of standard tasks that fall under the database administration domain. Responsibilities: Perform standard Oracle or SQL Server database administration tasks, such as database monitoring and Knowledge on Oracle Enterprise Manger and working with the Agents. Knowledge / working experience with Oracle Data Guard and Data Guard Broker. Able to identify and resolve first level of issues / alerts. Diagnose and resolve database problems. Should be able Participate in Oracle or SQL server 24x7 support on-call rotational shifts. Knowledge / Experience of working on Linux systems. Able to escalate the issues to next level of support team members in case not able to understand/ resolve it. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience Undergraduate degree and 1 to 3 years of experience with a relational database platform (Oracle or MS SQL Server). good knowledge of relational database management system and principles. Experience with standard Oracle or MS SQL Server database administration tasks. Solid knowledge of Linux and shell scripting. Demonstrate ability to acquire knowledge of new database technologies while on the job. Be self-reliant and self-driven. Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to pay meticulous attention to details. Ability to meet goals and deadlines. Ability to quickly diagnose issues and come up with solutions and/or workarounds. Ability to work independently or collaboratively and maintain a positive attitude. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times. Exercise self-control under trying or tough circumstances, situations, or under any kind of pressure. Availability for after-hours and weekend work (as needed). Preferred Qualifications/Selection Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent related experience 1-3 years’ experience with oracle and sql database Administration (Oracle certification is a plus!) Experience in oracle Exadata administration is a plus. Experience in oracle golden gate is a preferred. Must have the ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment Ability to handle high pressure situations and quickly respond and resolve production problems
