On-Site Instrument Engineer (As-Built Data Collection) We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Instrument Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The primary responsibility of this role is to go to the project site to collect and update as-built data for control and automation systems. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities: On-Site Data Collection: Travel to the project site (IOCL-HALDIA) to physically collect and verify as-built data for all instrumentation, control, and automation equipment. P&ID Updates: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., Piping, Mechanical, Process) to update Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) with accurate as-built information. This includes revising instrument locations, control loops, and associated wiring. Client Communication: Engage directly with the client's site personnel to understand their operational requirements and clarify any discrepancies in the existing drawings. Technical Discussion: Participate in on-site technical discussions and meetings to resolve issues and ensure the final documentation reflects the installed system accurately. Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed reports on daily progress, challenges, and findings. Documentation: Organise and manage all collected field data, photos, and notes to support the drawing updates. Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related engineering field. Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in Chemical, petrochemical, Oil & Gas industries site experience or Panel operations Experience: Proven experience in instrumentation and control systems, with a strong understanding of P&IDs and electrical schematics. Previous experience in a site-based role or as-built data collection is a significant advantage. Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, instrument loop diagrams, and cause & effect charts. Familiarity with various types of field instruments, valves, and control systems. Soft Skills: Communication: Verbal and written communication skills in English are required. The ability to communicate fluently in Hindi or Bengali is preferred. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to handle on-site challenges.
