Job Description Desk Operations Location: Ratnagiri (4x300 MW Thermal Power Plant)Reports to: Shift Charge Engineer (SCE)/HOD Role Purpose Responsible for safe, efficient, and systematic operation of the thermal power plant from the control room, ensuring reliability, compliance, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities Operate and monitor unit parameters from the control room as per SOPs. Ensure adherence to PTW, LOTO, and safety systems during isolation, normalization, startup, and shutdown. Handle plant emergencies and support in AOH/COH/Shutdown/Commissioning activities. Maintain accurate logs, checklists, and SAP notifications for abnormalities. Guide field engineers during routine, isolation, and emergency operations. Optimize plant performance by maintaining heat rate, efficiency, PLF, and availability. Conduct incident/abnormality analysis and prepare RCFA reports. Operate auxiliary systems such as RO Plant, HCSD, and HVAC from control room. Participate in audits, safety committee meetings, and TQM activities. Ensure compliance with IMS, ISO, and safety documentation. Educational Qualification Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering PGDC in Thermal Power Plant (preferred) Experience Diploma: Minimum 10 years (in >100 MW Thermal Power Plant) Degree: Minimum 5 years (in >100 MW Thermal Power Plant) PGDC: Minimum 5 years (in >100 MW Thermal Power Plant) Key Competencies Strong technical and operational knowledge of thermal power plants Safety & compliance orientation Problem-solving and decision-making skills Planning and prioritization ability Good communication and interpersonal skills Leadership and team guidance
