This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and governance of our Enterprise Data Model within a Data Lake at an enterprise scale. You will also serve as the primary guardian of the Enterprise Data Model, ensuring adherence to best practices in data governance, quality, and architecture.As a key member of the data team, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, cross-functional data teams, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to implement data solutions that support data-driven decision-making at scale.Key Responsibilities:Data Architecture & Modeling:- Lead the design and implementation of Enterprise Data Architecture and Data Modeling strategies for a scalable Data Lake at an enterprise level. - Act as the primary guardian of the Enterprise Data Model and ensure consistency across all data domains. - Develop and govern Data Models including Star Schema, Data Vault Methodologies, and Analytical/Semantic Models to support business and analytical needs. - Collaborate with business stakeholders and data teams to define and implement Data Architecture Principles that align with organizational goals.PostgreSQL Management:- Work with very large datasets (hundreds of millions of records) efficiently and reliably. - Expertise in PostgreSQL clustering, replication and high-availability configurations - Familiarity with PostgreSQL backups, recovery procedures and disaster recovery strategies. - Experience in managing and optimizing PostgreSQL database performance, including query optimization, indexing and partitioning. - Lead efforts to harden PostgreSQL environments against internal and external threats - Define and enforce database security policies, including role-based access control, encryption, and auditingGovernance & Standards:- Promote and enforce Data Governance, Data Quality, and Model Governance practices across critical data projects. - Work with stakeholders to ensure the application of Data Architecture Policies, Standards, and Guiding Principles in all data-related projects. - Ensure the Reference Architecture is adhered to by all teams.Collaboration & Consultation:- Act as a Data and Model Governance Consultant, educating internal teams on data governance, architecture principles, and best practices. - Provide technical guidance and support to data engineering teams to ensure compliance with Data & Analytics Principles in areas like new dataset creation, pipeline design, and data integration.Technical Documentation:- Write detailed design specifications and documentation to clearly communicate architectural and modeling decisions. - Demonstrate design and technology approaches through prototypes and proofs of concept.Optimization & Innovation:- Continuously assess and recommend opportunities for Data Architecture Enrichment and Optimization. - Work closely with cross-functional data owners, SMEs, and teams to monitor and manage Data Health.Cloud and AI/ML Exposure (Nice to Have):- Work on cloud-based data architectures, ensuring integration and alignment with modern cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Exposure to AI/ML frameworks and support integration of advanced analytics into the data platform.Stakeholder Management:- Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver data solutions that support organizational goals. - Communicate complex data architecture concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.About Candidate:You are an experienced Data Architect with a proven track record of designing and implementing data solutions at an enterprise scale. You possess expertise in data modeling, cloud architecture, and data governance while having hands-on experience with data engineering. You are a problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and can effectively manage multiple stakeholders across the organization.Qualifications:Experience:- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in data, digital, technology or analytical roles. - Expertise in installing, configuring, securing and maintaining PostgreSQL databases. - Deep understanding of networking concepts, including setting up PostgreSQL replication (master-slave, master-master), failover and clustering. - Expertise in query performance tuning, using tools like pg_stat_statements, EXPLAIN ANALYZE and server settings to optimize database performance. Experience with PostgreSQL-specific tools such as pgAdmin, pgBouncer, pgBadger, pg_repack etc. - Extensive experience in Data Architecture Design, Data Modeling, including Star Schema, Data Vault and Analytical/Semantic Models with Peformance Tuning - Expertise in industry-standard data modeling tools such as Erwin. - Solid understanding of Data Platform and Data Warehouse frameworks, including data integration patterns and architecture. - Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to optimize query performance and database architecture - Conduct regular security assessments, patching, and vulnerability remediation - Automate monitoring, backups, and failover strategies using industry best practices - Provide expert-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for database-related incidents - Experience in Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern data platforms such as Snowflake. - Experience working with metadata management, including business and technical metadata, data cataloging, quality, governance, taxonomy, and ontology.Technical Skills:- Strong knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Modeling best practices. - Hands-on expertise in Cloud-based Architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP). - Experience in integrating AI/ML frameworks into data platforms. - Ability to write clear design specifications and technical documentation. - Proven ability to mentor and guide teams on Data Architecture Principles.Certifications:Relevant certifications in Cloud-based Architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are a plus.
