Join GGIF in Protecting India’s Children and Vulnerable CommunitiesTheGood Governance India Foundation (GGIF)is launching a major national initiative addressing one of India’s most urgent public-safety and public-health crises — the growing threat posed by stray dog attacks on children, women, the elderly, sanitation workers, and daily-wage earners.India now recordsover 10,000 dog bites every dayandthe highest number of rabies deaths in the world , a tragedy that disproportionately affects those who lack agency, access, and voice. We believeevery child deserves safe streets , and no parent should fear letting their child play or walk to school. To make this mission a reality, we are assembling a network ofsocial workers, volunteers, field coordinators, and community mobilisersacross India.Who We Are Looking For:GGIF invites individuals who are: Compassionate and committed to protectinghuman rights Skilled incommunity outreach ,fieldwork , ordocumentation Able to collectvictim stories , verify incidents, and support affected families Willing to work withslum communities, labour settlements, schools, and clinics Comfortable withbasic digital reporting(WhatsApp, forms, photos, geotagging) Motivated to strengthen a national movement forchild safety, dignity, and justiceBothprofessionals(social workers, counsellors, public-health graduates) andcitizen volunteersare welcome.What Volunteers Will Do: Document and report verified stray-dog attacks Support parents and victims in accessing legal help Assist in collecting data for public-interest litigation Advocacy for change in legal, policy and local government practices Fundraising from those who can afford to payOperational and legal guidance will be provided.Why Your Role Matters:Dog-lover organisations are well-funded and organised. Victims are not. Children, especially those in poorer communities, suffer in silence. Your work will ensure thattheir stories are heard , their rights upheld, and their suffering no longer ignored.
