Position: Azure Data EngineerExperience: 5+ YearsLocation: RemoteEngagement: ContractJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to design and implement a scalable, Azure-based Central Asset Registry that integrates data from 120+ SQL Server e-Quip databases and 130+ CSV-based hospital systems.The engineer will be responsible for validating architecture decisions (Azure SQL + Azure Functions vs Microsoft Fabric) and delivering a robust data model, ingestion APIs, and weekly batch ETL pipelines.Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Functions, API development, and exposure to Microsoft Fabric is essential.Key Skills & QualificationsStrong expertise in Azure SQL (schema design, indexing, performance tuning, bulk load operations).Hands-on experience with Azure Functions for ETL workloads.Proficiency in REST API development (Azure App Service / .NET).Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture).Strong understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, batch ingestion, and delta processing.Experience with CSV ingestion, transformation, and integration patterns.Experience designing data models for multi-source systems.Knowledge of Power BI integration with Azure SQL.Ability to make architecture decisions based on cost modeling and trade-offs.Understanding of NHS security, data protection, and anonymization frameworks.Preferred CertificationsMicrosoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer AssociateMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect ExpertMicrosoft Fabric-related certifications (preferred)
