Role OverviewPlatonix is hiring a Live Streaming & OTT Engineer to design, build and scale live and VOD streaming systems for interactive wellbeing experiences. Deep, hands‑on experience with AWS IVS, Amazon Chime SDK, and web/live streaming is mandatory. Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect and optimize live + VOD workflows using AWS Media Services (MediaLive, MediaConvert, MediaPackage, MediaStore, IVS, CloudFront).Build low‑latency, interactive streaming with AWS IVS, Amazon Chime SDK, WebRTC, LL‑HLS, RTMP and SRT.Design ABR encoding/transcoding workflows and optimize encoding ladders and CDN usage.Implement DRM and content protection (Widevine, FairPlay, PlayReady).Integrate interactivity (chat, overlays, synchronized metadata, event‑driven actions).Monitor and improve QoE (latency, buffering, bitrates, errors, CDN performance).Troubleshoot issues across web, mobile and connected devices.Automate streaming operations with scripting (Python, Bash, Node.js). Required Experience & SkillsStrong practical experience with AWS IVS and Amazon Chime SDK for real‑time and interactive video.Solid knowledge of live streaming protocols and technologies: LL‑HLS, WebRTC, RTMP, SRT.Web streaming expertise: HLS/DASH in browser, HTML5 players (video.js, Shaka), MSE/EME.Deep familiarity with AWS Media Services and major CDNs (e.g., CloudFront, Akamai, Fastly).Good understanding of codecs (H.264, H.265/HEVC, AV1), MPEG‑DASH, HLS, CMAF, ABR and QoE optimization.Experience on OTT platforms, video apps or large‑scale streaming systems. Nice to HaveInterest in spirituality, digital wellbeing or mission‑driven products.Experience with multi‑region architectures and event‑driven systems.Passion for interactive, community‑centric user experiences.
