Job Description

graph8 is building the unified go-to-market (GTM) operating system for the AI era — connecting data, automation, and outreach into one platform. We power campaigns for B2B clients through CIENCE, and deliverability is the foundation that keeps every message reaching the inbox. We treat deliverability as an engineering problem, not just a marketing setting. This role owns the mechanics that protect our domains, scale daily sending safely, and keep our clients in the inbox.MissionOwn the Deliverability Protection & Warmup Routing Mechanic end to end — protecting and optimizing the entire outbound email ecosystem so every graph8 client achieves consistent inbox placement, trusted domain reputation, and safe daily sending at scale. What You’ll Own1. Authentication & DNS InfrastructureConfigure, verify, and monitor SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI, and reverse DNS for all active sending domains.Maintain 100% authentication compliance across client domain pools.Coordinate with DevOps on DNS changes, ESP configuration, and mail infrastructure.2. Warmup, Throttling & Sending SafetyDesign and operate domain warmup logic for new and existing domains.Enforce safe sending patterns, throttling rules, and volume distribution across domains and mailboxes.Manage domain pools and sending schedules to prevent domain/IP burn.Monitor reputation signals across Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Apple Mail, etc.3. Deliverability Quality GovernanceAnalyze templates, subject lines, and campaign configuration for spam and risk signals.Operate and improve template scoring / spam-control checks before campaigns go live.Run inbox placement tests (via tools like Mailreach, GlockApps, Postmaster Tools).4. Incident Detection & RemediationDetect and investigate drops in inbox placement, spikes in bounces, or complaint issues.Run root-cause analysis and implement systemic fixes (not just one-off patches).Exercise authority to pause or block risky campaigns or domains when safety thresholds are violated.5. Reporting & DashboardsMaintain clear visibility into deliverability performance by client, domain, and mailbox.Define and deliver the SQL/views needed for internal Deliverability KPI dashboards (ClickHouse/Jitsu or similar).Provide GTM and SDR teams with regular updates on domain health and risks.6. Training & Pre-Send GovernanceBuild and enforce pre-send checklists for domains, lists, and templates.Train SDR and campaign teams on domain safety, copy do’s and don’ts, and basic deliverability hygiene.Reduce internal confusion around “what is safe to send” through clear standards and documentation. What You BringTechnical Experience3+ years in email deliverability engineering, mail ops, postmaster role, or high-volume outbound infrastructure.Deep understanding of DNS and authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, BIMI, reverse DNS).Hands-on experience with high-volume ESPs (AWS SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, Postmark, etc.).Familiar with inbox and reputation tools such as:Google Postmaster ToolsMailreach / GlockAppsMXToolbox or similar DNS/SMTP diagnostic tools(Nice-to-have) SQL or Python for reporting and automation; experience with ClickHouse or Supabase is a plus.Operating StyleStrong bias toward fast remediation when deliverability degrades.Process- and checklist-driven; comfortable enforcing standards.Senior IC mindset: you own the system, make calls within defined safety boundaries, and don’t need committees for every decision.Risk-aware: prioritize long-term domain and IP reputation over short-term volume pushes.CollaborationCan translate technical deliverability issues into clear language for SDRs, GTM, and client-facing teams.Comfortable working with engineering (Sequencer, DevOps, Data) to change logic, routing, or monitoring when needed.Success Metrics (How We Know You’re Winning)High inbox placement across monitored mailboxes (e.g., Gmail inbox rate ≥ 90%).Low hard bounce and complaint rates (bounce rate ≤ 2%).Zero critical deliverability incidents (blacklists, catastrophic reputation drops) on active domains.100% DNS authentication pass rate across all active sending domains.Fewer “what’s going on with deliverability?” questions from GTM teams due to clear dashboards and standards. Why Join graph8You will own one of the most critical systems in the GTM operating stack.Direct impact on performance for hundreds of active B2B campaigns.Work closely with engineering leadership, GTM, and SDR teams in a low-bureaucracy, high-velocity environment.Build a deliverability protection layer that scales with AI-driven outbound at massive volume.
