Role OverviewSekuro Asia is seeking a versatile Contract Automation Developer to manage the full lifecycle of business process automation. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing critical legacy VBA macros, while simultaneously designing modern workflows using Microsoft Power Automate and Python. The ideal candidate can seamlessly navigate between local Excel automation and cloud-based API integrations.Key ResponsibilitiesModern Cloud Automation: Design and build automated workflows using Power Automate (Cloud Flows) to orchestrate data across SharePoint, Teams, and external apps.Legacy Macro Support: Audit, debug, and enhance existing VBA macros to ensure stability and compatibility with current business needs.Advanced Scripting: Develop Python scripts for heavy data processing (ETL) and complex logic that exceeds the capabilities of VBA or standard Power Automate actions.Hybrid Integration: Create "bridge" solutions where local VBA events trigger Cloud Flows, or where Python scripts process data outputs from Excel macros.Migration Strategy: Identify opportunities to refactor unstable or slow VBA code into more robust Python scripts or Power Automate flows.Error Handling: Implement comprehensive error trapping across all three platforms (VBA On Error, Python try/except, Flow Configure Run After).RequirementsTechnical SkillsVBA (Visual Basic for Applications):Deep expertise in the Excel Object Model (Workbooks, Sheets, Ranges, PivotTables).Experience writing efficient code (using arrays to minimize read/write operations).Ability to debug legacy code written by others and create UserForms for data entry.Power Automate:Strong command of Cloud Flows, Dataverse, and custom connectors.Experience interfacing with SharePoint Lists and Libraries.Python:Proficiency in data manipulation libraries (pandas, openpyxl, xlwings).Ability to write scripts that interact with Excel files programmatically.General:Understanding of when to use which tool (e.g., VBA for user interactivity vs. Python for backend processing).Soft SkillsAnalytical Thinking: Ability to deconstruct complex manual processes and choose the right tool for the job.Adaptability: Comfortable working with both legacy code (10+ years old) and modern APIs.Documentation: Skill in writing clear "Read Me" files and inline code comments to ensure future maintainability.DeliverablesOptimized and stable VBA modules.Deployed Power Automate flows for notifications and approvals.Python scripts for data transformation tasks.A "Migration Roadmap" suggesting which remaining macros should be moved to the cloud.
