Job Description

Role: To ensure the delivery of high-quality occupational health services, maintain compliance with statutory health regulations, and promote health and wellness among employees by implementing comprehensive preventive, curative, and promotive health strategies in an industrial setting.Responsibilities:- Conduct and manage statutory Pre-Employment Medical Examinations for all new hires. - Ensure periodical medical check-ups for employees, especially those in hazardous areas. - Conduct Occupational Health Surveys to assess workplace health risks. - Maintain all health-related documentation in line with Gujarat Factories Rules and Factories Act. - Liaise with certifying surgeons and ensure compliance with all legal and statutory norms. - Frame and implement the Medical Policy for the organization. - Promote occupational health and hygiene practices among employees. - Conduct health awareness campaigns on hygiene, first aid, mental wellness, etc. - Provide training on Industrial Health, Personal Hygiene, and First Aid. - Organize refresher training programs for dedicated first aiders. - Ensure availability and efficient functioning of the Occupational Health Centre (OHC). - Handle first aid and emergency medical cases, including accident and illness response. - Ensure the readiness of ambulances and emergency medical support systems. - Maintain and administer adequate medical and antidote stock. - Liaise with local hospitals, specialists, and doctors for advanced care and periodic health camps. - Liaison with local health authorities for permissions, biomedical waste disposal, and certification. - Administer the OHC operations, staff management, and infrastructure. - Prepare annual department budgets (estimates and revised estimates). - Manage procurement of medical and surgical items as needed. - Plan and propose hospital equipment and infrastructure improvements. - Maintain records of OHC meetings, reviews, and progress reports. - Ensure biomedical waste disposal complies with local authority regulations. - Prepare and maintain statutory documentation and compliance reports. - Obtain necessary consents and approvals for the OHC operations.Education Qualification and Experience:- MBBS degree from a recognized university. - Additional certification in Occupational Health / AFIH (Associate Fellow of Industrial Health) is mandatory. - Minimum 2–5 years of experience in industrial/occupational health, preferably in a manufacturing or hazardous industry. - Proven experience in managing health centres, emergency response, and medical compliance.Competencies:- Strong knowledge of occupational health laws, regulations, and compliance standards. - Proficient in emergency medical response and industrial health risk management. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for training and awareness programs. - Capability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external healthcare providers. - Proficiency in reporting, documentation, and use of health management software/tools. - Ability to conduct health audits, surveys, and risk assessments. - Proficiency in local languages and English, both written and spoken, to facilitate effective communication with employees and stakeholders. - Basic knowledge of SAP, MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
